Online peek at an bi-annual danish bike event

Hi guys 'n gals.

Dunno where else to toss this, so here goes:

Twice a year the danish bikers has got something to get together about and
celebrate:
The danish amusement park, Bakken - located just north of Copenhagen - opens
and closes every year, and this makes the danish bikers gather for a get
together and ride-together at Nørrebrogade in Copenhagen, which acts as the
meeting place for all of us.

It started in the late 60's - early 70's, when the hardcore biker gangs went
to the place to beat up some hippies and get drunk and/or stoned - now it's
an event for all kinds of bikers, both the family guys, the hardcore dudes -
and everyone in between.

There's the jap riders, Harley guys, families on Goldwings, beemer
enthusiasts, new chinese bike owners, veteran riders, all kinds of bikers.
The one thing that gets them together is one thing: Bikes.

They usually start meeting up at Nørrebrogade in Copenhagen, at around 5 in
the afternoon, when the danish police gets ready to block the roads for car
traffic and letting the bikers through.

Then it's time to meet up with old biker friends, meet new ones, talk bikes,
brag about bikes, exchange rumours about bikes - and bikers, and generally
have a very good time.
Y'know, kick some tyres and tell tall tales. ;o)

At 7'o clock it's takeoff time, and everyone gets on their bikes and gets
going - some take a break along the way to enjoy the sight of thousands of
bikes going by, maybe get a cup of coffee, or whatever.

Later, all meet up at Bakken, park the bikes, gets something to eat and head
home, depending on where you live and the state of you and your bike.
We've had bikers coming from all over northern Europe and Scandinavia.

Drive nice, though - the police is on the lookout for anyone breaking any
kind of law that night.
Clubs meet and ride together, and it's all about having fun with the bikes
and getting together.

We've only just closed Bakken for this year, the place opens again on march
13th, 2008, for anyone who might be interested in going to Copenhagen in the
springtime, and meeting fellow bikers. You're welcome here.
