need some guidance Victory 8 Ball or Fat Boy?

Brand new to the Forum and need some assistance...

been working myself over for the last week about what bike to get. I have lines on a 2005 Vegas 8 Ball with a couple of Ness after market toys and 6500 miles for between $8500 and $9K and a very nicely loaded 1999 Harley with about 12,500 miles for about $10K.

bike will get fair use, but won't be primary mode of transport - ever. but could have as much as 6000 miles a year and some travel that would get 300-400 miles in a single day.

My dilemma:
I love the lines and look of the Victory (and the fact that it's not something you see every day), but am concerned about the riding position.

The Harley is basically as complete as I would want to get it. lots of chrome, saddle bags, quick detach windscreen... but it's a 1340cc carb'd EVO motor and is a bike you see more frequently on the road around Dallas (my home).

any insight especially from folks that have ridden the 8 ball or the Vegas for extended trips would be GREATLY appreciated.
