Street? Dunno, buck 30 or 40 I guess, and that would be at the end of a
acceleration blast or after passing, as I would never hold that speed
for any time at all on the street. Makes me skeert to think about it.
Track? Well, I've done track days with a busa, and the back straight at
Road Atlanta is ~4000 feet long...you do the math.

Broke it in which direction, too fast or too slow? I'd believe either.

I've done a 3hr ride with a Mossberg pump action slung over my shoulder.
brought it new at an out of town gunshop and was heading home.....german
helmet (fibreglass) dark sunnies and a long scarf. The one pub I stopped
at had the owner coming out to greet me as I was getting off the bike.
Before he could say anything I just unslung the shotgun and asked him to
hold it for me as I got my helmet etc. off. He seemed to instantly relax
......

I regularly ride to a mates farm with the .375 Big Bore Win. lever
action over my shoulder.

NZ sounds like a decent place. Over here, you can still get away with
this in some places, especially down south, or some areas out west where
human evils are not blamed on firearms.

What it comes down to is having a 'lawful excuse' to have it with you.
Things have tightened up down here in the last couple of years, but out
in the country, the rural folk are the 'real' NZers compared to city
yuppies. Family/community values vs. $$$ type of thing. To rural folk, a
firearm is just another tool....and like the US,when it comes to guns,
the further South you go, the better!

I remember years ago, I had a cousin call in for a visit. He had a
mongrel half breed dog he had brought 'for protection'. I called out to
my then 9 year old son to 'get protection'. He came into the living room
with my shotgun (which he could use!). The look on my cousins face was
classic!
