160 in a 55, without a fairing, on a turbocharged KZ1000. It was
geared for 180 and had the power to get there but the front end was
getting too light.

There is a 15 mph entrance ramp I often take at 60+. But really, that
isn't such a big deal as my Grand Marquis can take it at 50 easily
The posted speed limit is just strange. Even more funny is the next
entrance ramp is listed as 25 mph, and is *much* *much* tighter and
dangerous.

I keep wondering how much trouble I'll get in if I go to the range with a
large semi-auto rifle strapped to my back, and the ammo box bungee'd to
the rear of the bike. This is MD - probably won't go over very well....

175 in a 35 on an RC51. Long straight country road with no driveways or
anything.

Well, 130 in a 65.

And 75 in a 15. (Yes, 15 was the *actual posted limit*, not an
"advisory" speed) Going 5X the legal speed was kind of neat...

Blue Ridge Mountain Road in Loudoun Country runs north/south along the
spine of Mount Weather, connecting U.S. 50 and Virginia Route 7, west
of Leesburg. It has numerous tight turns along its wooded length,
each marked with an advisory "maximum safe speed" sign. In the
absense of fallen leaves and winter sand or salt, all of the corners
on the road can be taken by a competent rider on a competent bike at
about double the posted maximum. Except one, near the southern
terminus of the road at U.S. 50, which is marked maximum 20mph and can
be taken, perhaps, by a skilled and talented rider who also happens to
be fearless, at about 25 mph.

That one catches a lot of riders out.

I know that secret, and am going back late May 08. It is like an
intergalactic runway - teleporting alll who shift their gaze to its
distant horizons into a space and time transcending organism. Zoom!

Riding in So Utah is like riding on another planet.
