Default boots need resole

I have a couple pair of boots that need to be repaired. Anyone have a
good place I can take/send them for new soles?

Hardly anyone repairs anything anymore. You're supposed to throw out
and but new.

I used another guy who'spretty good and is local ( Michigan) but his
contact info is at home, I'll get it for ya later.

I have never seen a satisfactory resole on MC boots. All the ones I
have seen done come off again in the first ride. I would pop for some
new Tech Eights and get it right the first time. OF

I think Dean said that Astar will do them for $85 approx.

I had my Alpinestars Tech 8 done by a shoemaker. It didn't hold up, the
sole came off after a few hours at the most inopportune time. Talked to
Alpinestars on the phone. Result was, that many shops don't have the
equipment nor the glue to deal with MX boots. Sent them to Alpinestars via
my dealer. Came back re-sewn, with new steel caps and improved sole. There
is some wear showing up after a season of riding but everything still
sticks together fine.

2ct,
Volker

I would contact the USA rep for whatever make they are, and have them
resoled through the original manufacturer. Or hunt for a new pair on
e-bay.

With our throw-away society, shoe repair stores are becoming a thing of the
past. I've got a good one I go to for lightweight stuff.

Finding a place that will do repairs to MX boots is very difficult.

Finding a place that will resole MX boots is nearly impossible. The
manufacturer is often your only option.

From Alpinestars:

Hello Dean,

Thank you for your email. The soles for all our motocross boots are
replaceable. If you would like to get them resoled, you have two options.

The first option is to order the soles ($34.95) through your dealer. Then
find a local cobbler to resole them for you. They need to have the right
glue so the soles won't delaminate, equipment and knowledge to resole them.
Option two is we offer a resoling service here. The cost of a resole is $70-
$80 dollars (per pair) depending on the damage done to the sole. The price
includes all parts and labor with ground shipping at no charge. Turn around
time takes 4-5 business days once we receive them plus shipping time.
If you wish to send them in please call the Alpinestars USA office at the
number below, ask for product support and they will issue you a return
authorization number.

Kind regards,

I sent my tech 7s to Geovanna Diaz at alpinestars in september for new
soles and they haven't come off yet after a few rides. I did send the
$80 since like Volker, they fixed a pair for free for me once. I
didn't call first I just sent them and suspect that they would have
done it even if I hadn't include the 80.

I say just send them to her with the $80 cash and a handwritten note
no matter what brand they are.

I would not waste my money on Alpinestar soles. I'm going with the
Factory MX Boot resole place. Sidi soles are great.
