He used to be very pale. And have eyesight. Love that transformer. I
think that's next on my project list. Sell the Lincoln 225 & build my own
welder from scrap steel and old lamp cords. The quality of those welds is
testimony to the effectiveness of his equipment.

JFTR,
By law, all products must have a 90 day warranty, no matter what.
After that, Honda (and Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawa, not sure on GG and
KTM) offers a 9 month warranty, totalling one year, automatically void
if you race. You have 90 days to race and not lose warranty...
Consumer rights here is big.
I got my one year warranty voided after 5 months... :-) But how do
they know if you're racing? Does Honda sends a spy to every race? I
claimed warranty after trail riding a few times, the oil tube coming
from the oil radiator started leaking badly. I was noticed that my
plastics (and frame) were scratched and that was not covered, but I
got the oil tube replaced (and the leak did not stop) for "free".

GasGas has a 90 day warranty on manufacturer's defects.
One reason Scott Summers Raced XR600R bikes was that he could race
one for six months and then have it replaced under warranty. (or so I
read at the time.)

Mike says - We sold GasGas _RACE_ bikes with a 12 month warranty. Only
submitted a few claims which the _DISTRIBUTOR_ promptly backed ($$$).

Somewhere else I saw a photo of an Asian guy welding, using a piece of

Oh My!
I've dumped IE6 (5.5) and am now using Opera for browsing and guess
what!!!???? Newsgroups. Kind of a funky doodle way of browsing and
tyring to figure out where things are gets aggravating because it is
nothing like Outlook Express or IE. I am getting to like it because now
when I run Adaware SE, I get nothing, absolutely zilch on tracking
cookies. Just got a TCP port scan according to my old Sygate, nothing big.

But I went out and topped off the tank on my XL600R today. I replaced the
taillight bulb on Thanksgiving, I was exhausted. Gonna get below freexing
and Mike W.'s in da 'hood.
Oh, that was a bulb on the motorcycle, you have to explain everything to

Is there a warranty for off-road trail bike but not MX bikes? Because
MX bikes like the YZ and RM are considered closed course competition
machines only?

Every product sold by a store, being the product new or used, must
have a 90 day warranty, that's law and has no exceptions, so a CR and
a KX are covered during these 90 days, even if the happy owner decides
to race. There are no warranties if you buy from a person, say, if you
buy a bike from your neighbor, he does not have to warrant anything.

What country's law? The US?
The OP was about Canada. Here we have people selling Chinese dirt bikes
out of their basements. You can even save a few bucks buying one in its
original packing crate, never having seen the light of day since getting
boxed up in Chunking.
As for warranty, some of these guys have no spare parts, no repair shop;
how can they warranty anything?
