Default GPZ500 - anyone got one?

Hi,

Just wanted to try and revive this group a bit (apologies to those who
do post). I've got a '92 GPZ500 which I don't take out often enough.

So am now trying to get it ready for the good weather.

So far -

Battery knackered. Halfords want £65 for one! Got mine from www.whitedogbikes.com
for about £28 delivered - great service. Just need to put the
electrolyte in and charge it up.

Rear wheel had a slow puncture all last year, turns out it was fitted
with the wrong valve so that's now been fixed but theres a bit of
splitting to the sidewalls - new tyre I suppose.

It's also got an oil leak on the gear selct lever seal. Good one from
the Kawasaki design dept - the removable downtube is on the other side
and it needs the engine out to replace a £5 seal. Just as well I have
a mate who used to be a bike mechanic. He'll get to have a look at it
in a week or so.

Then it's off to the MOT shop.

Can't wait for the sun!

John
