America Reserve Tank

I just picked up a 2007 America. Does anyone know how much fuel is left in
the tank once the engine has to shift to reserve? I'm trying to figure out
my gas milage and once I have to shift to reserve, I have filled up within a
few miles.

Whoa - welcome to America/Speedmaster ownership!

Both bikes are almost the same in every way except cosmetic things
(though I think the America has innertubes on its tires and some other
minor things like that) but all specs like gas tank size and so forth
should be the same...

If you can't find your owner's manual, then believe it or not it's
under the seat. You'll notice that your seat is fastened to your rear
fender with a hex screw - just south of your ignition switch you'll
find a plastic panel that you can pry off easily from the bottom.
Inside that should be some fuses and a hex wrench. Take the wrench and
take off your seat, unlocking it with the left-side latch after you
remove the hex bolt.

In the manual you will see your gas tank specs - it should list the
reserve size.

My experience with my 2005 Speedmaster is that there is 1 gallon left,
which means you have just over 3 gallons in the main tank. Highway
mileage is roughly 50 mpg, while city mileage varies greatly but is
still usually over 30.

I have a copy of the british manual, and it says that the tank
capacity is 16.6 liters and the reserve is 3.5... So just shy of a
gallon in reserve and about 4.25 gallons total. Hope that helps. (If
