'96 Thunderbird

All,

I own a 1996 Thunderbird w/ < 20K miles on it and I love it. Would not
trade it for anything. Well I purchased it used from a non-Triumph
local shop/dealer. Anyway, I have had it for a while, and decided to
start working thru the 20K maint. list. So far, changed the oil, oil
filter, front/rear brake pads and flushed the radiator. I did
(without looking) order an air filter from Dennis Kirk.com. And yes,
early on, I did purchase a shop manual. (I forget the name and title).
So now I read that, according to the manual, the airbox assembly needs
to be renewed. Not just the filter. I got down to and just before the
step, "remove the carburators" and decided to think about this. So the
question is, do I really need to repalce the whole airbox assembly or
can I remove, open, and just replace the filter. I have a nice K&N
filter ready. So, do I need to call a dealer (closest one is 300
miles) and order an airbox. Any help would be appreciated. thanks,

If you are ok with removing the carbs to get the airbox off the bike,
then you can just split the airbox by removing the Torx screws and
chaqnge the filter over - it just drops out no problem.

I am so disappointed on Lord of The Rings Online Power Leveling.
