Gidday......

Just thought I'd pop in and say gidday from NZ.

After going through the Ducati/Moto Guzzi phases, Iv'e got a 2002 RSV-R
and I'm addicted.

Congrats on the new bike!

I got a '03 rsv myself (but its an '04 model).
Addictive indeed! It's hard to constrain yourself to legal speeds.

There are some minor things that really annoy me though... the
tiny little side-stand looks so dangerous to me. And it has play.
I fear it's easy for the bike to fall over.

Also, front brake is an anchor, rear brake is simply not there.

Hi there,

Yep, it is quiet here.
I agree with you about the side stand. It looks pretty unstable to me as
well.
Regarding the rear break issue, I had the same issue.
Fortunately I have a good friend in Italy that works on Aprilia who
explained me the 'mistery'. All you need to do is bringing your bike to an
Aprilia dealer. They know what to to. They replaced the purge valve on the
caliper and reset the break. Now it works very well. The job was free of
charge as it is a known issue.
