Intro

Howdy, just stumbled on this newsgroup; been hanging in the cesspool
known as reeky (rec.motorcycles) for the past ten years or more.

Name's Tim. Currently own three Ducatis, newest is an '07 S4Rs
Monster that I got in May 2006 as a combination Christmas/Wedding
Anniversary/Birthday gift from my wife. I just passed the 4,000 mile
mark on it. Next up is my 2003 620 Sport trackbike, which I just
bought off of eBay earlier this year, and have ridden twice at Summit
Point, West Virginia track days. Nice little bike. I also own a
1994 916 custom that was originally built in 2000 from an insurance
write-off and became a Cycle World coverbike and a Fast Bikes Calendar
bike for 2000. It was built as a "street tracker," converted to wire
wheels, no fairing, flat track handlebars, custom SuperTrapp exaust,
custom swingarm and custom paint. I bought it from the collector who
purchased it from th e builder (in San Diego, CA) and I'm in the
midst of changing the paint scheme to something a bit more "flat
track." It a very early 916, serial number #777!

1973 750GT (owned from 1986-1999)
1975 860GT
1977 900SS
1985 Cagiva Alazzurra 650GT
1992 750SS
1992 851 Superbike

The '91-'98 SS bikes are among my favorites. I have a friend who
races a pair of 900SS's. Great bikes!

Mine too, IMHO they messed up the SS's after that. I must admit to
having tendencies towards the 748/998 just lately, my bank manager says
no however :-( So an MV Agusta's out of the question as well then.

Are you in Europe? Used 748s are going for a song[1] here in the
U.S. ... it's almost criminal, in that *anyone* can seem to get their
hands on them, but very few seem to really know how to take care of
them!

[1] Perfect examples with less than 10,000 miles on them go for $7500
and clean examples with 15-20,000 miles on them go for as litttle as
$4,800 - $5,500.

There are some bargains on 748s here in the UK too, at the moment I'm
just struggling to keep mine on the road, rear tyre is looking like Jean
Luc Picard.

these parts

in red of course

dream bike would have to be a 888 sp5, but any late 851/888 would be nice

ducati.ms has lost of good stuff on it as well if you havent found that yet.
