Default Lest We Forget

In 1918, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day in the eleventh
month, the world rejoiced and celebrated.

After four years of bitter war, an armistice was signed.

The "war to end all wars" was over.

Please take a couple of minutes to remember the brave men and women
who have sacrificed their lives to protect ours.

May we never forget.

A special thanks goes out to the Australians, New Zealanders,
Canadians, Americans, Brits, and French.

And a heartfelt thank-you to all vets of all wars and their families
on this combination Armistice/Veterans Day.

Greg

P.S. I did a solo visit to my dad's grave; WWII vet; died almost 5
years ago. Just wanted to make sure there was a flag to commemorate
today. Got there and realized that somebody swiped the flag off the
back of my bike over the last day or two. I hope they put it to good
use.

Hear, hear.

I shall also take a moment to remember those Germans who attempted to
overthrow their government at the end of WWI and those Germans who,
despite the risks, attempted to assassinate Hitler and his generals
during WWII.

It's easy to say a war is so important your neighbor should go fight it for you.

Good point. And, similarly, the citizenry opposing the Germans in the
countries they invaded.

Not taking anything away from what the regular soldiers did but, in
the case of resistance fighters, they did what they did knowing the
danger it put their families in and, if discovered (or ratted out),
how easy it was for the Germans to just come and round them up.

In connection with that it's worth contemplating how, in mundane
circumstances, people with certain traits are valued and highly
praised, while the rebellious and rule-breakers of society are looked
down upon.

In some peoples' minds, being well off is almost viewed as proof of
posessing superior integrity and morals. The corollary to that is the
less well off are the way they are because of moral defeciency.

But substitute the mundane with different circumstances and the tables
could be turned. It might be the ones who are now exhibiting
shiftless, stubborn, non-conformist, risk-taking behaviour who are the
ones the country suddenly needs, while the ones previously viewed as
'good' create excuses to bend over backwards; accommodating the
occupiers for the sake of personal safety and/or financial gain.

From stories I've heard coming from people who lived in the
Netherlands during WWII, there were many people in the latter
category. It was an eye-opener.

Agreed. I have nothing against the Germans or the Japanese for that
matter and you can't help but love the Italians no matter what side
they're on -

You'd be a loyal national socialist now if Hitler hadn't been so
impatient to pick a fight with the USSR. Lots of Dutch people were for
national socialism, Juliana married a Nazi, and Beatrix married a man
you had been in the Hitler Youth.

Every country that Germany invaded had a national socialist party that
allied itself with Germany, but, as they so which way the war was
going, they switched sides and declared war on the Germans.

What would have happened to the Dutch royal family if Prince Bernhard
had succeeded in getting an alliance with Hitler, or if Hitler had
acceded to his request to be made stadthouder of the occupied
Netherlands?

Hmmm?

Have you never heard of the Land War laws and the Geneva Convention?

They give occupying armies the authority to use armed force against
civilian populations that offer armed opposition.

Who do you think is selling out America right now? It's the capitalist
elites, and they control the news media and the entertainment industry
and they say that the hard working honest Americans who built America
are just a bust of inbred trailer trash and that the Mexican invaders
are "hard working, decent people."

What happened to the hard-working decent White people?

Oh, they are toothless rednecks who have incest with their sisters...

At least that's what JewVision tells us.

Very few Dutch Nazis were ever tried for their crimes or executed. The
Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunals only executed the most high profile
Nazis and the wealthy bankers and businessmen who financed the Nazis
only got light prison sentences.

And Hitler was vilified for all eternity as the "mastermind" of the
Third Reich because he was the spokesman for a nation's dream of
carving out a secure place in the world to raise their children.

Not surprised to hear you defending your hero Hitler though. I don't
see a dime's worth of difference between your beliefs and racist
agenda and his. Many Allies - Americans included - died defeating the
person you regard so highly. Give that some thought on your Veteran's
Day.

So... did the Jewish propaganda machine also fabricate the holocaust,
Krusty?
