Default Clutch adjustment screw

No, not the one on the handlebars, but the one on the clutch body

What does that screw do? I haven't found a source anywhere that actually
describes the function of that object.

On most I am familiar with, the screw adjust the clearance
in the clutch pushrod. Typically, you need to loosen the
cable and lever adjustments as far as possible. Unlock the
jam nut and turn the screw in til it is firmly, not tightly,
bottemed to remove all slack. Then back the screw out 1/8 -
1/4 turn and lock it down. I have found this adjustment
best don with the machine cold. After it is adjusted, you
adjust the cable and lever. I have found this adjustment
can have quite an influence on clutch feel and engagement.
If the adjustment screw is not adjusted for any clearance,
the clutch may slip while engaged which could result in
clutch failure. The proper adjustment is outlined in many
owners manuals. Some require you to consult a service
manual for the exact procedure and settings.

I tried adjusting it once and ended up having the adjustment screw get
sucked into the clutch cover. So if the screw is meant to remove slack in
the system - then clearly something is amiss in there.
